What’s this bitch up to?  So, she’s gonna resign because it’s best for Alaska for her to “pass the ball” to a new, positive administration…she’s getting in front of SOMETHING…she wants to work for change from “outside government” rather than inside government…

Oh, and she has her KIDS up with her on the stage, complaining about the “attack on her kids” by the media…I’m thinking, “Either USE THEM or don’t, but don’t bitch when they are used after you paraded them out there!”

How Right-Wing Radio Almost Killed Me Yesterday

July 1, 2009 by sheabirdno1

I have a confession to make. I love crazy people. I don’t know why but there’s a macabre fascination that I can’t deny. From my first-hand encounters with people who have schizophrenia to listening to the crazies yack it up on right wing radio and all manner in between…I just can’t get enough.

Yesterday, I spent a great deal of time in the car driving to and from dreaded job interviews. To soothe the savage beast, I tuned in to AM radio. Now, here’s where I wish I could be sure of something…it would be so cool to write that I found Michael Savage. However, as I write this I am thinking it might have been Neil Boortz, which would give me absolutely no word play….I digress.

At any rate, I was listening to the crazies on AM radio and EITHER Savage of Boortz railing about how he’d “never seen a White House take in a specific news organization to be the mouthpiece of the White House.” and how outrageous it was that the White House was “planting people in press to ask favorable questions and that “no dissenting viewpoints were allowed.” He went on and on about how in the history of the entire world, this kind of thing has never been seen before in this great country…blah blah blah….

I didn’t get what he said next, because I almost wrecked my car LAUGHING MY ASS OFF…and that’s how right wing radio almost killed me yesterday.

The church at the end of my road

June 10, 2009 by sheabirdno1

I live in a small mobile home community down a gravel road in rural Georgia. The hate literature defaming Catholics and the Nancy Schaefer for Senator signs hanging all over the place, piled up in the lobby waiting for their church wide campaign to commence their saturation of this entire area…that’s enough for me to dislike these people. Throw in the fact that every revival notice, church benefit, VBS, screaming at me from the window of our post office…my post office, and I think I have come to despise these people. Quietly and from a distance, but despising nonetheless…

I find myself wondering about the people there…what do they want? Turns out EVERYTHING, including a chunk of the land on which our home rests. Their potential purchase would actually close off the entrance to our neighborhood and eventually, would mean the removal of homes. How many? Which ones? Nobody knows just yet….

The irony of this situation will not be lost on my husband, whose elderly widow mother was forced to move her dinky little trailer back in the late 1980’s. See, she was sitting on this tiny piece of land owned by…you guessed it: THE CHURCH NEXT TO HER. She had no means to move, nowhere to go and her only child still living with her was 3 weeks shy of basic training. But she had to go, and go she did. I’m not sure how she did it, but one thing I am sure of and that is it wasn’t with the help of the church who booted her.

“They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.” Mark 12:40

“Look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27

“Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.” 1 Timothy 5:3

These are just the few examples from THEIR HOLY BOOK that I can recall referring to how widows are to be treated. Hypocrites. thursday2

Healthcare Reform

June 9, 2009 by sheabirdno1

This is my first post in my “re-entry” into the world of blogging.  Bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of WordPress.

http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/getting-to-work-on-healthcare-reform-2009-06-08.html

In this article, Senator Richard Shelby of Alabama calls our healthcare system the best one “the world has ever known.”  Is he serious?  This is a joke, right?
